Scouts and Leaders Honored at Annual Recognition Ceremony

The Diocese of St. Augustine held its 46th annual Scout Religious Medal Recognition Ceremony on March 22 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine.
Scouts from parishes across the diocese received religious medals presented by Father Rafael Lavilla, chaplain for the Committee on Catholic Scouting.
Organizations represented included Scouting America, Girl Scouts, Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girls.
Adult leaders were also recognized. Bruce Crichton of Our Lady Star of the Sea and Assumption parishes received the St. George Emblem, and Reggie Dubay of St. John the Baptist Parish was awarded the Bronze Pelican. Both were honored for decades of service to the local scouting community.
Christ the King Troop 9005 received the Pope Paul VI National Catholic Unit Excellence Award.
