Sister Celinie Awards Honor Catechetical Leaders

Eight catechetical leaders from across the Diocese of St. Augustine were honored April 20 during the 10th annual Sister Marie Celinie Joubert Awards at St. Luke Parish in Middleburg.
The awards recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in forming the faithful through parish and school catechetical programs. The event has been held since 2014.
The award is named for Sister Marie Celinie Joubert, one of the original Sisters of St. Joseph who came from Le Puy, France, to St. Augustine in the 1870s at the invitation of Bishop Augustin Verot. They first served newly freed slaves, and their mission grew to educate generations of children across Florida.
